100 Al-Adiyat

This is a Makki Surah, and draws its name from the kind of horses that have been mentioned and sworn by in the beginning. When the Qur’an began to be revealed to the Prophet ﷺ, the situation in Arabia was much chaos, as looting and plundering by tribes were common. Illustrating such a situation that was prevalent helped to attract the attention of the listeners to what Allaah (SWT) wanted them to know.

Man is ungrateful for the blessings of Allaah (SWT), and he himself is well aware of that. He loves his wealth greatly.

On the Day of Resurrection, everyone will be resurrected from their graves, and the secrets of everyone will lay bare for judgment before Allaah (SWT).
