035 Fatir

This is a middle Makki Surah and is named after one of the attributes of Allaah (SWT), that is the Originator. This surah states some important reminders for the people and warns them to take heed before they face punishment for their actions.

Allaah (SWT) asks the people to reflect on the blessings they enjoy from Him, and if there can be anyone else who provides these benefits. Yet, these blessings are a test and the life of the world is only a delusion. Satan seeks to make this world appear as the ultimate truth and everlasting abode, but he is actually the enemy who wants to lead the Children of Adam into the Hell Fire.

Allaah (SWT) is not in need of anyone, but it is His creation that needs Him, and if He wants He can replace everyone on earth with a new creation.

Every nation was sent a warner, and just as the Prophet ﷺ is being rejected by his people, past prophets were also rejected and so they faced the punishment as a consequence. So, the time of every nation is fixed, Allaah (SWT) does not hasten their punishment and allows time to them to repent and reform, else there would have been no one remaining on earth if Allaah (SWT) caught them immediately for their sins.

The Qur’an is a revelation, that is a confirmation of what was sent previously to past nations, so it should be actually easier to believe in since it does not contradict them but rather complements them.
